Val Hoffman has a MPH in Epidemiology from UC Berkeley and a PhD from Claremont Graduate University. She was a postdoctoral fellow at UCSF at the Center for AIDS Prevention Studies in the Department of Clinical Epidemiology. Her research interests include HIV prevention among young gay men and sexual risk-taking. She conducted her dissertation research while working as a health educator in an STI clinic in Los Angeles.
