Bio
Dr. Evan Palmer is a Professor of Psychology at San José State University and Chair of the Psychology Department. He is also a member of the MS program in Human Factors/Ergonomics. He earned his Ph.D. in Cognitive Psychology from UCLA, spent four years as a Post-Doctoral Researcher at Harvard Medical School, then was on the faculty at Wichita State University’s Human Factors Psychology program for nine years before joining the faculty at SJSU in 2016. Dr. Palmer’s research focuses on applying principles from cognition, attention, and perception to solve real-world problems. Recent research topics include user experience (UX) testing for corporate clients, gamification, value-driven attentional capture, web page perception, shape perception, visual attention, and visual search.
