Lower Division Advising

Lower division students (those with 0-59 completed units) can visit the Jack Holland Success Center in the Boccardo Business Complex 008 for support.

Student can find the list of lower division business advisors located at the Undergraduate Advising Hub on our Meet the Team website.

Lower division students can get support in the following ways:

• Service #1: Advising Appointments
  • Appointments are 30 minute sessions scheduled via Spartan Connect (In-person and Zoom).
  • For help with scheduling, please call the Jack Holland Student Success Center front desk at 408-924-3435.
    • Appointments can only be scheduled two weeks in advance. Appointments may be limited during peak advising times.

• Service #2: Drop-In Advising (Not Currently Available)

• Service #3: Change of Major Workshops
  • Students who are seeking to meet with a Business advisor for the first time to discuss change of major are required to first attend a Change of Major Workshop:
    • You can sign up for a virtual workshop here. All workshops are held virtually via Zoom.
    • The Zoom information will be shared after filling out the sign-up form. The next workshop dates are:
      • August 14, 10:00–11:00 AM
      • August 14, 10:00–11:00 AM
      • September 4, 10:00–11:00 AM
      • September 11, 10:00–11:00 AM
      • September 18, 10:00–11:00 AM
      • September 25, 10:00–11:00 AM
  • Students with 60 or more earned units are not eligible to register for a Change of Major Workshop. These students must Upper Division Drop-In Advising (Service #3) for more information.

*Students interested in changing their major to Business (after attending a Change of Major Workshop) or adding the Business minor must visit the Undergraduate Advising Hub front desk or call 408-924-2434 to schedule an appointment.

Students seeking disqualification and/or reinstatement advising support should email their assigned advisor to schedule an appointment.
